Eat More To Lose Weight, Seriously!

Eat more to lose weight...Does this sound wrong to you? The stereotypical belief that eating less will in turn help you lose weight, is not always true. In fact, diets that over restrict caloric intake can and in fact are are a set up for failure from the get go. Cutting calories may help at first, however, there will come a time when this will most likely work against you. With lower caloric intakes, people often skip meals which slows down the metabolism, often causing cravings. This makes it harder to stick to your healthy eating plans and often causes binging. While it doesn't sound true, it is! It's incredibly healthier to eat more to lose weight, as opposed to eating less.

How does this work? Simple, your body will eventually make a choice between losing body fat or muscle. If your body is not fueled properly, you will end up losing muscle as opposed to fat. While you may be losing weight, this is not healthy in the least. By creating an eating plan to control calories, ensuring balanced meals and with a consistent eating pattern, you can control energy levels, appetite, cravings, insulin levels and blood sugar. Plus, eating often allows you to never be overly hungry and keeps your metabolism going. The key is to eat enough of foods with low calories; especially foods high in protein, helping to fill your appetite without over-eating, or consuming too many calories.

It may seem like a healthy decision to cut your calories and even skip meals. However, it may take longer to reach your goals and you risk suffering binges, health problems and setbacks. It's far healthier to eat more to lose weight. Remember, all things in moderation; don't restrict yourself from that dessert you've been craving for weeks. Instead have a small portion and let it be. Properly nourish your body with healthy quality food, keep your metabolism going and make it easier to lose weight.
